The man solely behind The Drawing Room, Joel Bruyere has his feet firmly planted in the music industry, trading as a successful independent mix engineer, producer and musician in Southwestern Ontario.
Since 1999 Joel has been the bassist for the band Thousand Foot Krutch. He has traveled around the world with TFK, playing thousands of shows in countries such as the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and the majority of Europe. Together they have recorded and released 6 full length LP's.
After performing a beautiful acoustic version of Soak the Sin for Twenty Stories Below under the working name Exposed in the Drawing Room, Joel released his first solo album, self titled The Drawing Room in March 2009.Joel described the album as "a patchwork from years of sound bytes and ages of tuneful marinating. If you listen closely enough, you can hear the Juniper tree from outside said window swaying in the breeze on nearly every strain. Truthfully intended for headphone perusing, the likes of a heavily wooded trail, glass of blueberry juice in hand and a pace set slightly under breakneck, would suffice. Mmmm......breakneck."
